This research guide is designed to assist students, scholars, and practitioners in researching federal bankruptcy law.
The term "bankruptcy" refers to the "statutory procedure by which a…debtor obtains financial relief and undergoes a judicially supervised reorganization or liquidation of the debtor's assets for the benefit of creditors." Black's Law Dictionary, 10th ed.
This guide covers primary sources including federal statutes, court rules, and cases, as well as secondary sources and online sources for bankruptcy information. It also provides information on resources for news and current awareness information on bankruptcy topics.
The reference librarians at the Ross-Blakley Law Library are happy to help you find or navigate research resources.
Librarians are available 9am-4pm Monday-Thursday and 9am-2pm on Friday by phone or by email.
