Race Card Project

Race Card Project
In 2010, journalist Michele Norris began inviting people to distil their thoughts on the word race to only six words. Printing 200 postcards and issuing a call to action, Norris and her team were unsure of what, if anything, would result. Today, more than 500,000 personal narratives, from all 50 states and 96 countries have been collected.

In 2013, the Race Card Project was awarded the prestigious Peabody Award for excellence in electronic communications for turning a pejorative phrase into a productive dialog on a difficult topic. You can make your own card here.
